The Sims Russia has always been reliable when it comes to leaking little hints about upcoming Sims games. They’ve not let us down this time as they posted some rather obvious tweets that can only be related to Monday’s announcement. In the last two days, they tweeted the following:
Хотите чего-то нового? На следующей неделе жизнь Симмеров поменяется

А вы любите играть онлайн со своими друзьями?

I think it is safe to assume that something big is coming on Monday, and all our expectations are more than likely correct. Hold onto your hats!
Remember all those years ago, when The Sims 2 was first released? It was almost 9 years ago, that’s right, 2004, how time has flown by. Luckily, our favourite Lazy Game Reviewer has decided to continue his play through of The Sims franchise and has now started his new series with The Sims 2 base game. If you want to sit back and enjoy a massive dose of nostalgia, then watch this play through of a game that reminds us of simpler times.
Decades Stuff has been rumoured for a while now and during the live broadcast the stuff pack was officially announced, but with the title “70s, 80s & 90s Stuff”. A bit of a mouthful but ultimately better. From disco attire from the 70s to the grunge look of the 90s, the stuff pack is sure to suit the mood and style you want. Thanks to SimCookie again for the images.
It’s Friday, so that can only mean one thing. Machinima time! Feast your eyes on a brand new Promo for our home grown machinima series, Alone.
You’re invited… To the Wedding of the year. Don’t miss this celebration of love and joy between Jill and… Wait a second… Whatever you do, don’t be late!
I love things like this; they’re funny. A NASA scientist believes it is possible that we could be living within a computer, much like characters from The Sims. His theories are actually pretty interesting. So if you love reading about these sorts of crazy ideas, definitely check out this article from Vice.
Two years ago, Rich Terrile appeared on Through the Wormhole, the Science Channel’s show about the mysteries of life and the universe. He was invited onto the program to discuss the theory that the human experience can be boiled down to something like an incredibly advanced, metaphysical version of The Sims.
It’s an idea that every college student with a gravity bong and The Matrix on DVD has thought of before, but Rich is a well-regarded scientist, the director of the Center for Evolutionary Computation and Automated Design at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and is currently writing an as-yet-untitled book about the subject, so we’re going to go ahead and take him seriously.
The essence of Rich’s theory is that a “programmer” from the future designed our reality to simulate the course of what the programmer considers to be ancient history—for whatever reason, maybe because he’s bored.
Or whatever it will be called.
For a while now we’ve been writing up a Google Document with our ideas and opinions on what we would like to see in the next instalment of The Sims. We haven’t been working on it non-stop – there were times where there were weeks if not months between edits – but we feel it’s time to let everyone see it. It’s still work in progress (and a bit messy) and we’ll continue to add to it and change things. So without further ado, here it is:

As always, Sunlit Tides will be coming with premium content. What exactly is this premium content? Well we’ll find out today in a blog post. We do know however that it is a bath of some kind and it was designed by Alan Copeland. Here’s a pic:
Do you know what the PC in ST is? Tomorrow look for a blog about the new premium content from designer Alan Copeland!
Well I did have a nice fancy table with pretty pictures and links to do this with, but it seems WordPress doesn’t like sliced up images from Photoshop in a table too well. That or I just fail at doing it. Probably the latter.
Anyway! E3 is just around the corner! Well, tomorrow to be exact. So what’s going on and where is it happening? Well this not-so-fancy guide below tells you everything you need to know about Microsoft’s, EA’s, Sony’s and Nintendo’s conferences. Ubisoft (and I believe Konami) are also holding one, but the less said about theirs the better…It’s also worth pointing out that Nintendo are holding a surprise event today at 15:00 PDT (23:00 BST) for the WiiU where they’ll give more information about the new console. You’ll find that here.
All aboard the E3 hype train people!
